Week 8 already,
So, this week i am planning to do an etching for my PCB design that i have done in previous week.
- - Firstly, what i need to do is print the circuit in a "Photo Paper" by using a "LaserJet" printer.
# For your information, all the highlight stuff is important to make your PCB design successful print in a board. If not there might be a trouble in the next step.
|
1st Circuit : Charging Controller for Devices |
|
2nd Circuit : Charging Controller for Li ion Battery |
Step 2
- Secondly, i take(cut) one of it to do the fabrication session.# Then, by using that photo paper i used to iron it on the PCB board to let the ink of the "laserjet" printer stick on the board.
|
Iron session |
|
Use the normal temperature |
|
Until its looking like burning |
|
Burning like this is enough |
|
Finish iron session |
CAUTION!!
# Do not iron the board for too long because this will happen to your board. (see the picture below)
|
This happen on my friend board. |
|
Due to thermal shock, his pc board bent inwards. |
Step 3
- - Thirdly, let the board cool down a minute to continue the next step.
# When the board is cold until you can touch it using your finger, then its already prepared to open the photo paper.
# The photo paper will sticky with your PCB board, so you need slowly take it off.
Step 4
- Final step is the etching session.
# This session we need to use acid "fabric chloride" to remove all the unused cooper layer.
# Then, the only left is the cover that been cover with ink "laserjet" printer
* put the circuit and sieving the acid until the copper loses from board
|
Take a look at the board to see the progression |
|
If its not done yet then repeat the sieving process |
|
After finish you can see the different colour left
|
|
Now, Finish you have done your etching session |
# To remove the laser jet ink, you can use the gasoline by rub it on the surface board. =)
- See my PCB's, 2 circuit that already done etching session.
Sorry i did not take a picture for the circuit on the right side. But, that circuit already finish doing an etching session. Thank you!
